Awful Auntie cast

When Stella sets off to visit London with her parents, she has no idea her life is in danger! Waking up three months later, only Aunt Alberta can tell Stella what has happened. But not everything Alberta tells her turns out to be true and Stella quickly discovers she’s in for the fight of her life against her very own awful Auntie!

Following our acclaimed productions of Gangsta Granny, Billionaire Boy and Demon Dentist, we are proud to present a brand new production of David Walliams’ amazing adventure, featuring a small ghost, a huge owl and a very awful Auntie!

“The Birmingham Stage Company has produced a terrific production of my book – I absolutely love it. It’s brilliantly done and so funny!”

Reviews

"Awful Auntie Live on Stage is a triumphant adaption of David Walliams’ much loved book. It has been cleverly adapted and directed and is great entertainment!"
What's Good To Do
"This knockabout country-house fun has been adapted by the team behind the hit take on Gangsta Granny. My boys loved it."
Sunday Times
"Awful Auntie is perfectly brilliant and the entire audience was absolutely captivated. A fantastic set fit for the West End, oodles of humour, some weird and wonderful capers and a star cast who relate the complex and rapid story extraordinarily well – it’s a sure-fire winner!"
Oxford Times
"This was certainly a phenomenal show, truly wondrous! Definitely one for the whole family - just spectacular and not to be missed"
Fairy Powered Productions
"Brought to us by the BSC, the company that produced the award-winning Gangsta Granny, this latest offering is just as exciting and terrifying as the book and has all the hallmarks of another huge dramatic hit. Awful Auntie is both thrilling and disturbing, heart-warming and memorable - a real gem of a play and definitely one to catch!"
What's On Live
"I can’t recommend Awful Auntie enough. The cast are hugely talented, the set is incredible and the whole audience was completely captivated throughout the performance. It’s a delight to watch from start to finish!"
Dorset Mums
"Awful Auntie is brought spectacularly to life in all her monstrous glory by the company who brought us the hugely successful Gangsta Granny. Once again they have kept true to the book and met the challenges of bringing the characters to life with huge success. It’s an Awfully good production for all the family."
Express & Star
"Just like Gangsta Granny before it, Awful Auntie transfers so beautifully to the stage that it could have been written especially for the theatre. It has everything a great piece of theatre needs and, possibly most important of all, it captures the audience’s attention from the very beginning to the very end. It's awfully good!""
Stoke Sentinel
"Ten out of ten for a show that’s true to plot and spirit of the book – although this play is so much funnier"
Nottingham Post
"David Walliams and children's theatre experts Birmingham Stage Company are proving ideal partners. After Gangsta Granny, Awful Auntie, has transferred to the stage full of wonder, wit, mystery, mirth and not a little manic mayhem. With a superb set and costumes, it's highly entertaining and awfully good!"
York Press
"Awful Auntie is a thrilling mash-up of comedy, horror, and detective story. I hope the partnership with Birmingham Stage Company continues with David Walliams: his books are ready fodder for the stage and become, in BSC’s experienced hands, note-perfect productions"
